Initiate a reboot of Dynamics 365 Business Central environments

Dynamics 365 Business Central has gained significant popularity and wide usage as an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution.

In some situations, it may be necessary for an administrator to restart a specific Business Central environment to restore its normal functionality.

This blog post will present a detailed, sequential guide on how to reboot a Dynamics 365 Business Central instance.

Step 1: Begin by logging in to the Business Central platform.

To complete this task, you can access the Business Central URL and provide your login details.

Step 2: To access the Admin Center, simply click on the "Settings" button

Opening the Administration Center for Dynamics 365 Business Central can be done with this action.

Step 3: choose the specific instance for which you wish to restart the environment.

Clicking on this will lead you to the page with detailed information about the environment.

Step 4: Click on the Session button. 

The selected environment will show a list of currently active sessions.

Step 5: Click on the Restart button. 

When you choose to restart the environment, a message will appear asking for confirmation.

Step 6: when you restart your system, all active login sessions will be terminated, and you will receive a prompt to click on 'Yes'.

Step 7: The environment is now transitioning to the preparation stage, and the restart process is expected to take around one minute. 

After the completion of this task, the system will be restarted, and regular operations can continue as usual.
